Words of freedom addressed to Giacomo Balla, entitled “Execution”.
Ink on lined paper, mounted on thicker paper. 31 x 21 cm. Signed “Luciano de Nardis futurista” in the lower left corner.
Correspondence between De Nardis and Balla is abundant. De Nardis, who met the Futurists through his friend Pratella, was influenced by Giacomo Balla in his artistic practice. He published words-in-freedom in L’Italia futurista (see lot xxx), and his work was exhibited for the first time in 1919 at the Grande Esposizione Nazionale del Futurismo, then in the 1921 exhibition, which showcased young futurists influenced by Balla.

Encre sur papier ligné, contrecollé sur papier plus épais. 31 x 21 cm. Signé "Luciano de Nardis futurista" en bas à gauche.
La correspondance entre De Nardis et Balla est abondante. De Nardis, qui rencontra les futuristes par l’intermédiaire de son ami Pratella, eut une activité artistique marquée par l’influence de Giacomo Balla. Il a publié des mots en liberté dans L’Italia futurista (voir lot xxx), et exposé pour la première fois en 1919, à la Grande Esposizione Nazionale del Futurismo, puis à l’exposition de 1921, qui présenta de jeunes futuristes influencés par Balla.
